Windows 10: Windows 10 keeps forgetting wifi networks and disconnecting wifi. Wont shut down when this...

So I am at my wits end with this issue over the last 3 months. Basically, my wifi on my Windows 10 PC will randomly cut out and it will say no networks available while my laptop is still actively connected to the same wifi network. Usually, it will only cut out for about 10 seconds, and then all the networks come back and wifi resumes.


However, if it happens too many times, the wifi never reconnects and I cannot manually connect to my network. In this case, I have to restart. However, when I click restart or even shut down it gets stuck endlessly on the "shutting down" screen and never actually shuts down, I have to hold the power button.


I know my wifi adapter is fine, because I tested it on my husbands PC, and checked all the drivers and they are up to date and fine. I don't know if its related, but it happens to cut out the wifi the most when I browse Facebook it seems like it really shouldn't be related, but that's the common denominator here

wifi keeps disconnecting from the wifi network

My laptop on wifi network keeps disconnecting frequently.
I am not able to understand what is the problem. While my mobile phone is
always connected on the same Wifi network.










Here are a couple of screenshots how I have to restore the connectivity each time.



















Now the problem is each time I go and disable the connection manually and then enable it does restore the connectivity. Why should I do this ? What is the problem as what is happening.

I thought power management to be a problem so I checked

30 days before reading this tutorial Add Networking connectivity in Standby to Power Options in Windows 10 I had added the option to add network connectivity in standby mode. By using the following command powercfg -attributes F15576E8-98B7-4186-B944-EAFA664402D9 -ATTRIB_HIDE
as mentioned in option one of tutorial.
However if you see the powercfg /a output
my system does not have support by firmware

so I hope that did not work. Later on after all this my system performance was not good due to other reasons.
So I used media creation tool and on that there was an option to upgrade I choose that, the laptop seem to be formatted for system files (that is my understanding if something else happened then I do not know).
All the settings and apps and device drivers were present as it is.
I again after a couple of days used media creation tool



So all settings I think got erased.
However this is not the cause of my problem I am just mentioning to understand what I did.
2 things I want to know
1) What is the cause of my network connectivity problems while mobile phones are connected and they don't disconnect in this Wifi network but Laptop does.

2) How to backup my existing device drivers if I format the system.

Man do this steps one of that works for 99%

1)can your machine connects to another wifi network
if yes restart or reset your router after that go to your settings and click forget your wifi network as you can see in the picture and try to conect from start




2)if you cant conect anywhere then burn an ubuntu live cd,boot form ther and check if you are be able to concet in your wifi from here .if yes,then you have a software problem with windows,your settings or whatever it is and you need to unistall your drivers and make all windows updates for your machine .
if no then probably your wlan card is dead unscrew your laptop and check if the wifi_card is hot if yes try to find another wifi card or buy a usb wlan card as i did when i have this problem for me this works fine http://amzn.to/2fQqzK8

 

WiFi not automatically disconnecting when out of range

I had a similar refusal to disconnect from a WiFi profile and I solved it.
- In my particular case, the unwanted network was still in range so I cannot say for certain that my symptoms were exactly the same as yours but they were certainly consistent with yours.
- The solution is not a destructive one so I do suggest you try it.

1 I turned WiFi off then repeated the fairly standard step of removing existing WiFi profiles - Settings, Networks, WiFi, Manage known networks, <select each one in turn>, Forget. Arguably, I could have just done this for the problem network but I was probably not thinking straight at the time.

2 I then opened RegEdit, went to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
and deleted every subkey that referred to a WiFi network profile. Again, arguably, I could just have deleted all those that referred to the problem network.

3 I then turned WiFi back on and started from scratch detecting then connecting to the networks I wanted to use. There has been no repetition of the problem.

Some further commentary
A I had changed my internet connection device but had re-used the same network name on the new one.
B There were no strange entries in the list in Settings [step 1 above] & I quite wrongly thought that forgetting them represented a complete clearout.
C When I looked the Registry key [my step 2 above], I found that there were two subkeys with the relevant network name in the Description line.
- In one case, the same network name was repeated in the ProfileName line
- But the other entry contained a Profilename entry that had the expected network name with a suffix [2] after it.
- So my re-use of the name had been identified by Windows after all [I had just been trying to reduce the number of changes I had to work through when I swapped devices and had not thought there could be side-effects].
