Windows 10 keeping randomly making ding sound

A few months ago my computer started to ding for no reason. I have turned off notification sounds and system sounds but i still get random dings. they seem to have no apparent pattern other then they are a few seconds within each other. its very annoying
and even continues when i have music or movies playing on my computer.

sound delay

Notification sounds are delayed by up to a second. For example a find command in an editor makes a ding sound when the string is not found. This is only an example. Many other cases occur, so it is not the fault of the editor. Funny thing is after the first
ding, the next ding is quick, but if I wait a minute or so, the next ding will be delayed again. It's almost like windows is loading the ding file and then caching it, but purging it from the cache later. I am using Windows 10 on a Surface Book. The CPU and
disk usage are low to nothing.

Before you tell me to randomly reboot, reload or reinstall anything, is there a way to actually debug the problem? Are there logs or traces or debugs that can be enabled that can track each step involved in playing the ding, so that the slow step can be
identified? Is there away to make it just simply beep without having to load a sound file and all the other slowness, like computers 30 years ago did?
