Windows 10: Windows 10 Keeps Rearranging Icons After Reboot SOLUTION!!!

I looked at like 5 threads on here that were all locked so this is one solution that worked for me!

I tried to delete icon cache, updated Windows and Graphics Card. Changed so themes cannot

change icons, and of course unchecked auto arrange and align to grid. With align and auto

arrange unchecked my icons actually piled up on each other in the top left quarter of screen!

I don't like a cluttered desktop so I just have my internal, external and DVD drive + Recycle Bin

and a couple of folders I access most so this would be very time consuming for some one that

has a full or half full screen of Icons!

SOLUTION:

I deleted all the Icons and went into My Computer and re-did the shortcut for each drive and

re-did the 2 shortcuts to my folders and it worked perfectly after reboot!!! If you have 20 or

more icons and programs on screen this may be a pain but it worked when everything above

did not!

Desktop icons keep rearranging


Hello,

My desktop icons keep rearranging and windows explorer won't save the position I put them in.

I can rearrange them but when I click 'Refresh' or if I restart explorer or if I reboot they rearrange to another setup. This happens in both normal mode and safe mode.

I have tried all the solutions available on the internet with no luck, including the obvious ones (trying all the auto-arrange and grid options) and even some more complex ones (sfc, registry tweaks).

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Desktop icons keep rearranging

Greetings folks.

I've got an annoying bug\error with windows 10 since almost a month now, the desktop icons keeps rearranging, and I cannot move them after they rearranged. No, I don't have the "Auto arrange icons" activated, nor I have the "Allow themes to change icons"
active either.

To make them movable again I have to activate and deactivate the Auto-arranging and then start moving them again. But I just noticed that after each explorer's restart (like when it crashes or when you manually restart it via task manager) the icons stay
"normal" for a while, but after I move an icon they just rearrange. I'm really annoyed now because this happens every hour or so.



OH: I also tried going in appdata\local and remove the IconCache.db and reboot. same results as in the video.
