  1. Windows 10 Kernel Power Event ID 41 When Idled

I've been getting sudden restarts lately starting 1/30/2021, was fine for over a year but only when I'm away from my computer for roughly 10-30 minutes. During that time, the display would turn off like normal as it is idled but I would return to find that my computer had restarted not sleep. It consistently happens when I'm away during those times. Not when I'm actively using it even for high CPU gaming or when I put it to sleep. Only when idled. I did sit and wait to see what happens exactly when I step away and saw that the displays turns off as it was set for battery preservation, I did reset that to default settings too and soon after it BSOD, logged the error, and restarted.

I've checked the event viewer and all of them were:

    Log Name: System

    Source: Kernel-Power

    Event ID: 41

    Level: Critical

    Task Category: 63

    Keywords: 70368744177664,2

    Version 8

    Level 1

    BugcheckCode varied from 0, 313,10, 209, 80, 30.

I've attempted to reset the pc to remove everything and start over but was unfortunately stopped by the error with ResetEng. I have tried updating all drivers I could find and also sfc /scannow no issues. I ran memory diagnostics 3 times no issues. I'm suspecting it's a driver but I'm not sure which if any. I thought it might have been a game since I updated it and it started happening. However, even it persisted even with the removal of all of that game's files.

    What should I do?

    :)

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel

Windows 10 Kernel Power Event ID 41 When Idled

    KERNEL-POWER ID :41 WINDOWS 10

The error is caused when computer is powered off without doing a proper Windows shutdown.

You mention that you can only run the laptop on the power plug. That suggests a bad battery. Try this tip and see what it says about your battery

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/generate-batte...

If it is a bad batter, and the computer is still under warranty, back to the manufacturer for a fix.

Since this is a power issue, do you recall the computer shutting off unexpectedly. You don't mention that happening. Make sure the plug is connected properly at both ends, ie unplug and replug it. If you are using an extension cord, try a different one.
