Windows 10: Windows 10 key activation error 0x80070057

Hello,
I have problem with windows 10. My computer is old and I remember I bought it when it was windows 8. Now I have installed windows 10. After some time my computer broke and had to replace some stuff. I don't remember it was long time ago. And now I've noticed that my windows needs to be activated. Well I tried activating by using product key which I found inside computer. I tried that. Didn't work. So I called Microsoft support agent via phone. He said that my windows key is for windows 8 and he said that I need to buy the new licence. At this point I was mad because why do I must buy windows 10 key if I have one and it doesn't work. Then I tried to look up for cheap windows 10 key. Because 250€ is too much for me. So I found for few euros only. But I guess I was scammed so I was abble to get money back. But later in email I got key. So I though I could maybe use it. And I noticed it is windows 10 enterprise. And this point I was scared Idk what it is. So I deactivated my windows 10 enterprise key. So I won't get in trouble. But I already did I'm so scared right now and Idk what to do. So yeah, this is the story of me. I need help. How do I get my key? I don't want to buy it because I have one I want a replace.

Well, sorry for so many posts in a row but I wanted to compile what has happened with this clients system:

First I tried the "assistive technologies" update and kept getting the dreaded 0x80070057 error. So, I imaged his Windows 7 drive and attempted to do a fresh install of Windows 10 version 1511 with his OEM key. Worked great! Installed and activated.

did some standard Windows updates but wouldn't bring up the new anniversary 1607 update.

Downloaded and tried to update to 1607, again with the 0x80070057 error.

then found the fix after doing some Google research and BOOM, it is now all updated and activated to Windows 10 version 1607! *Rockout :rockout:

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
