Windows 10: Windows 10 kids mode - Bing search still given non-appropriate contents

Hi guys,


I started apply kids mode on my son laptop and check if it works.

In kid mode, there is only Microsoft Edge work for internet surfing, I understood for that to easy control contents. However, when I blocked Youtube.com and did a test with searching engine Bing default on Microsoft Edge for some inappropriate contents, the video still showing it and can play in searching mode as well.

Question here:

1. How can we stop showing it with Bing.com.

2. Can we add some words somewhere to avoid some inappropriate searches.


I found out that if I change the searching engine to Google.com. We cannot see anything. But what if the kid find out and search with Bing.com. Who can help me raise this matter with Bing or Microsoft.

Search Content of MHT files

Hi David,

Most probably, this is a problem with the search and indexing of your Windows 10 computer. For us to provide the best resolution possible, we would like to clarify the following:

• Are you trying to search the content of MHT files using Cortana?
• Have you tried searching it using the File Explorer?
• Are you using a third-party app to search for the content of MHT files?

As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the troubleshooter for search and indexing. To run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• Click the Start button and select the Settings
  icon.
• Choose Update & Security from the list.
• Click Troubleshoot in the left pane of the window.
• Under Find and fix other problems.
• Select Search and Indexing and click Run the troubleshooter.

Windows 10 - Search in Address Bar choice reverting back to Bing

We appreciate your effort on this. However, in order to assist you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, we will need the details requested below:

• When you say, “Search in Address Bar” are you referring to the search bar of a browser?
  
• In Which browser are you facing this issue?
  
• We would like to know the troubleshooting steps that you have tried so far?
  

If you're using Windows 10 in S mode, Microsoft Edge is always the default web browser, and Bing is the default search engine. But you can access other browsers and search engines while in S mode. You can download any browser available in the Microsoft
Store in Windows, and you can navigate to any other search engine website.



However, if you are not using Windows 10 in S Mode, then you can try to change the default search engine. Refer the steps mentioned in the article

Change your default search engine and check if that helps.



If you are using Edge browser, you can try to reset Edge. Before resetting Microsoft Edge, we would suggest you to take a backup of the Favorites. Follow the steps to take a backup:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
   
2. Click on the Ellipsis (…) on the top right corner.
   
3. Under General, click on Import or export.
   
4. Now, click on Export to file and select the location where you want to export the file.
   
5. To Import the favorites, follow the steps from
   1 to 3, click on Import from file and select the location.
   

After exporting the favorites, refer the steps in the section Repair or reset Microsoft Edge
