Windows 10: Windows 10 lag / delay after wake up from screensaver, desktop rearranging redrawing long time

Hi,


I have i7-4770 PC with 32 GB RAM and 1TB SSD disk.

Additionally, there's mapped network drive from local NAS storage with some 12TB of space as G:\ drive, and PC also has 3 NIC adapters, being control Workstation with some Veeam backup server, IIS support web sites and such. But all those is working fine for some 5+ years now, no problems, even after inplace upgrade from Win 8 to Win 10 (few years ago) all went fine.


But last month, after latest Office update and MAYBE after latest Win 10 rolling update to 1903 display begun acting weird:

- SLEEP and HYBERNATE is disabled

- C0 power state in BIOS is disabled

- PC power settings are in High Performance mode

- Password login is enabled after wake up from screensaver

- Only DISPLAY is going to sleep after some 15 minutes. Display resolution is 2560x1440 and TaskBar is located ON LEFT (not on bottom like default!!!). No additional Graphics card, on-board i7-4770 takes care of graphics.


THE PROBLEM:

Every time LCD wakes up from sleep, I normally enter password, then it takes some 15-20 seconds for the screen/desktop to flicker a dozen of times, icons blink, mouse click is not available yet, especially Office programs are resized over whole screen, even over TaskBar....then slowly, one by one app gets resized back to proper size to accommodate TaskBar and in some 15-30 seconds PC becomes operable.


I have already DISABLED new Office Hardware acceleration.


Any idea what should I check?

Screensaver delay time resets to 1 on boot

Joan. So the screen saver needs to be set to what to come on? Seams like if its your scrolling pictures you would want it to come on at 1. Just wondering does the Cozi app show up on this list?

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

• Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
• Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
• Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
• Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.

 

Cold boot after waking from sleep/rearranges my desktop

Why does this useless product insist on doing a cold boot when waking from sleep?

And when it does that, it rearranges my desktop.

Microsoft created this problem 4 upgrades ago and still has not fixed it.

NONE of the suggested options work for either problem.

It is random.

Extremely annoying and unprofessional.
