  1. Windows 10 Laptop constantly reconnects to a Multipoint Bluetooth headset when phone is...

I am using a Trekz Air Bluetooth headset with multi point pairing. So far I have not had any issues with the device when connected to multiple units. However any time one of the paired devices is a Windows 10 device it will constantly disconnect and reconnect in the background interrupting audio from other devices with its pairing notifications. I don't have this issue with my windows 7 machine my android or the phone at work but any time a windows 10 device is added to the multi-point pairing it keeps dropping and reconnecting. There are no problems if the windows 10 device is the only connected devices and the windows 10 device only seems to do this when another device is playing audio. I cant figure out how to make the windows 10 device maintain a constant connection and not interrupt audio on my phone. I have even tested this on multiple computers and it seems the issue is specific to windows 10

    :)

Multipoint headset connection issues in Windows 10

I had a few bluetooth headsets capable of multipoint connection that I would like to use with my phone and various windows tablets. They all seem to work differently and I am unable to find settings that will enable to work around the issues. Given the annoyance
of multipoint pairing (and the removal issue), I don;t want to switch things around to test every permutation.

    Headsets: (1) Samsung HM3500; (2) Samsung HM3700; (3) LG TonePro HBS750

For practical reasons, I want to have these headsets connected to my phone (Android 5.1) as the primary device, so that I can answer calls and receive alerts no matter what I am using them for.

Tablets/Laptops: (A) Samsung running Windows 8.1 (Model 355V4C, AMD a8-4500M, Qualcomm Atheros 3012 bluetooth adapter)

    (B) WinBook TW700 running windows 10 Home

    (C) Insignia Flex 11.6 running windows 10 Home

    (D) MS Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 Pro

The combination (2)+(C) works OK. Headset connects to both devices, can answer phone while playing music from the tablet and music resumes when I terminate the call (caveat: I have to use the headset button, not the phone screen, to answer the phone and
    to terminate the call)

Combination (1)+(B) is weird. The headset will connect to both devices, but WinBook will not use the headset for playing music. It will only use its mic for audio input. If I disconnect the headset from the phone, then it will use the headset for audio playback
    also.

(3)+(A) was a disaster. It did not work. I tried removing (same disconnect in Android?), but after that I could not get the laptop to recognize the headset. I could not remove the headset from Device Manager's list of known devices. Only thing that worked
was to use system restore (which required me wait for couple hours to install the updates since that restore point. it was only two weeks old)

(3)+D Seems to be like (1)+B. At least removing and reconnecting works OK.

Also, unlike MacOS, Android etc, Windows seems to lack a "connect" (and may be also "disconnect" as opposed to "forget") command to (dis)connect from a paired device without forgetting the pairing.

In my searches I came upon a two year old article that said that Windows and MacOS do a poorer job of switching profiles on headsets compared to Android and iOS. This may explain the (1)+B behavior, but I am somewhat doubtful since it seems to be OK if the
headset is not also connected to my phone.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this, and any work-arounds you can point to.

  3. Bluetooth headset paired, but can't connect

I thought I had the same problem but was able to find out a solution - multi-point functionality.

It works fine for me now. Connects to both my Windows 10 and Phone.

When I power on my bluetooth headset, it automatically connects to the phone or laptop. There are times when I have to click the connect icon in windows 10. It is so much better than having to remove device and repair.

You can check out my earlier reply on this topic.

Review the BT device manual - Multipoint mode.

I had the same problem with my BT headset. I connect my BT headset to my Android phone and Windows 10 PC.

When I powered on my headset - it would only connect to the last connected device - either the phone or the PC. Lets say the headset is connected to the phone , PC would show the device as paired bluetooth device. When I try the connect option in Windows
10 - it would error out as "could nt connect".

    Fix:

    1. Please review the BT headset manual.

    2. When you turn on the BT headset, it automatically connects to the last connected device.

    3. The trick is to enable MultiPoint Mode in BT device.

    Example:

Sony Global - Support / Contact Us for Electronics and Game

Now, when I turn on my headset, it automatically connects to my PC and Phone.
