Windows 10: Windows 10 laptop. My screen shuts down way too soon. It's not power settings, it's not...

I'm on a Lenovo ThinkPad Windows 10. Important point may be that at work I'm plugged into a hub.My screen shuts down way too quickly, just after a couple of minutes. I've googled everything and come across threads on here answering this problem, and nothing works.It's not in my power settings, that's set to 30 minutes when plugged in and I am plugged in. My screensaver is set to go after 30 minutes, so it's not that either.This is profoundly annoying to be honest.

What brand/model laptop is this?

Try the following:

Step 1: Make sure the computer is shut down, and press the Power Button to turn the computer on.

Step 2: As soon as you see the rotating loading circle, press and hold the Power Button until the computer shuts off again.

Step 3: Repeat this process 2 or 3 times until you see the following on the screen: Preparing Automatic Repair
Let the computer boot to the Automatic Repair screen.

Step 4: The next screen (blue) goes to: Choose Account to continue
Select your account, enter your Password, and press: Continue

Step 5: A Diagnosing your PC screen appears, and it takes you to the screen for: Automatic Repair

Step 6: Here you can click Restart, or, Advanced Options
Step 6.1: Select: Restart

Allow the computer to go through the routine, and see if it solves the issue.

If the problem still exists, go back to Step 1 through Step 6.

Step 6.2: This time, click: Advanced Options

Step 7: In the Choose an Option screen, select: Troubleshoot

Step 8: At the next screen, select: Advanced Options

Step 9: Last, select: Startup Repair (Used for problems that keep Windows 10 from loading)

Please provide an update.

 

Lenovo Laptop - Windows 10 - Power and Sleep Settings Not Working

Despite selecting 'Never' for 'When plugged in, turn off after' for both 'Screen' and 'Sleep' within the 'Power and Sleep Settings' window--please see attached screen dump--and my laptop being plugged in, it still goes to sleep / shuts down after a short time of inactivity. Can any suggest why it is doing this and how to fix it?

Okay, still having a problem after updating the driver. When I change the settings to anything other than "never" on both sleep and screen Windows shuts down but still leaves the PC on.

I have an HP pavilion 17 notebook with the same problem.

The power to the laptop does not shut down when I shut down Windows, I have to manually turn off the power.

I also changed the settings to "never" on both sleep and screen (click on settings, click on system, click on power/sleep, scroll to "never" on both) since Windows was shutting down but leaving the power on. At least for now, when I shut Windows down I
can manually turn off the laptop a few seconds later. This laptop is almost always plugged in so I don't worry about the battery.

I have not added hardware or software since updating to Windows 10. I ran the troubleshooter and all it did was change my settings back to default and said everything was fine.

I also updated drivers, both HP and Intel.

This is like my husband turning off the TV but leaving the lights on!---- not a good thing.

Update: As of 8/8 Windows 10 shuts down but leaves the laptop on.
