    Windows 10 Laptop not discovered from android Miracast


    For training purposes, i need to mirror my phone to a screen so that I can share it in a Teams meeting. I have added the wireless display optional feature in Windows 10 and installed the Connect app , but my Samsung Galaxy 7 does not detect this to connect to. The phone has connected to a older Windows 10 laptop in the past but with the recent Win 10 upgrade, I am not succeeding to make the laptop discoverable to mirror to. I have installed the 'Your phone' app but this does not provide an option to mirror.Any suggestions?

    Hi MasterMister,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    Could you please help me with the below questions:

    • Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
    • Do you receive any error message while connecting?

    I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key on your keyboard and type Connect. Now Windows will search for the available devices.
    2. On your Android phone, go to Settings> Display > Cast Check if you have the option to enable the
      Wireless display on phone. This will display the Windows 10 device, select it to connect.

    For more information, refer the Microsoft article on Project
    to a wireless display with Miracast    .     This applies to Windows 8.1, but holds good for Windows 10. I suggest you to follow steps mentioned under ‘If you can’t add or connect to the wireless
    display    ’.

    If these methods doesn’t work, I would suggest you to post your query in ‘One
    plus community forums    ’ as the issue occurs while using Android phone.

    Miracast Unable to Discover

    I want to project my PC screen over to my laptop. Both are supported with Miracast and are both set to be discoverable with no pin codes. When I try to connect from the action center only my laptop is able to discover my PC and project, but my PC is unable
    to discover my laptop. Is it because my laptop has bluetooth and my PC doesn't? Or is it another problem altogether.

    Let me suggest you to contact the manufacturer of Miracast. To contact the manufacturer, please follow the steps below:

    • The name of the OEM + “contact information”
    • The name of the OEM + “PC support”
