Windows 10: Windows 10 laptop not working

I have a windows 10 laptop that wont boot and i tried the windows 10 usb recovery tool method. it doesnt work and shows many pixels and then turns off the whole laptop. Why doesnt it work? Also my computer hard drive needs replacement could that be the reason? I want to know because im getting it replaced soon and i want to know if the win 10 recovery usb will work after that.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
