Windows 10: Windows 10 Laptop stuck in Endless Loop

The problem started when I got a message on my screen saying. 'Unknown Hard Error' at the top of the message box it smaller writing it said 'rundll32.exe'


I looked up articles on how to fix this so I tried the scannow command in command prompt but it found no problems.


I then tried another suggestion in the article. So I opened Recovery options, then advanced startup to troubleshooting again I clicked advanced startup and then enable debugging.


Once I had done this the laptop tried to restart. It was on the loading screen with the hp logo for at least 20 minutes and then it completely turned off. I tried turning it on again with the same result.


Then I started looking up how to get out of this endless loop. I pressed the off button three times until it opened on a blue recovery screen with the message 'It looks like Windows hasn't loaded correctly '. One video said to open command prompt in advanced options and to type in c : I done this with every letter and got the same message for all 'whatever letter I had entered' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.


I restarted the laptop but I was still in command prompt so I had to hard press it on and off three times again. This time I went into safe mode from the recovery screen. I opened run and typed msconfig > ok. In system configuration I when to the boot tab and checked the No GUI boot. I then restarted the laptop but this did not help at all so I went back and unchecked it.


From system configuration in safe mode again this time I tried applying safe boot. This too did not work.


At this point anytime I tried to restart the laptop it was in safe mode so an article recommended that I open command prompt and type in 'bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot' when I tried this I got the message 'An error occurred while attempting to delete the specified data element. Element not found.'


In the recovery menu if I choose Continue exit and continue to windows 10 I am still stuck in safe mode. If i try to restart from the start menu the same thing happens.


In the recovery menu I can't do a system restore as I don't have any restore points. I can't go back to a previous version of Windows as the laptop came with Windows 10 pre-installed and I can't reset the pc because when I try to I get a message saying I don't have enough storage to do so.

Now I can't even get the recovery menu open as no matter how many times I restart it now it goes straight into safe mode.


I would really appreciate if someone could help me fix this issue.

• Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
• Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
• What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

Windows 10 update problem - endless loop

I attempted to updated to Windows 10 on my Dell XPS laptop. It seemed to go okay but now I am stuck in an endless loop alternating between two errror messages. The first one says WDF_VIOLATION. The second one says NTFS_File_System. Does anyone have any
suggestions?

In order to help you with your concern about your PC which is stuck in endless loop, kindly answer the following questions first:

• What are the options that you see under Options and boot options? If you can, please post here a screen shot.
  
• Was there a new hardware installed?
• Were there new apps installed?
• Have you done any recent driver updates?
• What is the current build and version of your Windows 10?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried?
