Windows 10: Windows 10 laptop won't show WiFi networks, Network & Internet settings app crashes

Currently trying to use my laptop on a new network for the first time in a long time, and after never having issues with connecting to WiFi at home, it's unable to find the WiFi at my workplace because the box of networks just won't load, the five loading dots just spin forever. Hovering over the icon says networks are available, so it can detect them, it just can't display the list. I opened Network & Internet Settings and the app freezes when I try to click on WiFi, then closes itself after a few minutes. Running Windows 10, already tried a few different ideas on other Microsoft help thr

Laptop apps (Settings, Etc) say not connected to network or internet but browser connects to home network and internet

Asus laptop-Windows 10.

Laptop Win 10 built-in apps (Settings, Etc) say not connected to wifi network or internet.

But browser connects to home wifi network and internet, surfs with no problems.

Tried many fixes-->>reloaded win 10, reset PC, ran win 10 troubleshooters for net , internet connections and network adapters, checked all settings, etc, etc.

Same problem exits with ethernet connection.

Suggestions appreciated.

Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

Please follow these steps:

• Click the Windows logo.
• Go to Settings (gear icon).
• Select Network and Internet.
• Then Wi-Fi.
• Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
• Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Available Networks Not Showing

My list of available wifi networks has suddenly stopped showing in windows 10. The list of networks is not showing when I click the system wifi icon in the notification bar. The list of networks does not show using 'show available networks' in Windows
Settings. Windows Settings will crash if I go to the WiFi page and select 'Manage Known Networks'.

I am connected to the internet using my normal WiFi. I created a wlan report. It seems to show that the wlan is working fine. I can list the available networks using the cmd line 'netsh wlan show networks'. They all show up as they should.

So, it appears the hardware is working but some windows module has stopped working and providing the list of available networks.

Any ideas how to fix this?
