Windows 10: Windows 10 latest update now have a problem

Problem

After Windows 10 updated . My computer will not start right, if I let it start I get "Reboot and select proper boot device" I have to press F12 on reboot and I see this

I tried each drive all gave me "Reboot and select proper boot device" Then I saw the blank space and said what the heck clicked on that and BAM booted into windows just fine. I have to do the F12 method every time I need to reboot. I thought this was just my computer until my roommate came home from he business trip and updated her computer and had the same problem


What I have tried.

SFC /scannow both inside windows and boot to command prompt no problem found

Scanned computer for malware and virus inside windows and via a repair cd HBCD

rolled back the update

used a backup to restore windows back to 1 week before update

Reformatted and reinstalled windows on the 2nd computer

Nothing has worked

I need to restart my computer remotely and cant do so with this problem any suggestion would be appreciated

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
