  1. Windows 10 Library versus something else to organize files

I have an overwhelming desire to be organized. I have been know to use my P Touch label maker in unusual ways. It's an illness - I know.

My question is about computer organization. Windows comes with it's own Library Folders - Music, Documents, Photos and Videos. The problem is I use Music for actual music but since I manage voice actors and I have lot of mp3's that are auditions. I don't want them in the Music folder obviously. I also have documents that pertain to clients - as well as their photos and videos. And of course I have my own personal stuff that maybe is a mix of photos and docs, etc.

So my question is this - for all you highly organized people that I admire - how do you organize stuff? Keep the built in Libraries or make your own? And if you make your own can you tell Windows to just ignore theirs?

    Thanks in advance!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    File organizer software?

    Hello all!

Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions for file organizing software, specifically software that can find duplicates and help weed them out. Im migrating some old stuff to my new build and seems I have a TON of duplicate files, but it will take me months to go through it all.

Free software would be great, but if its good Ill gladly pay.

    Thanks!
