Need help narrowing down cause in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; So my roommate's PC/OS has been locking up watching YouTube and twitch mostly on a browser.     Windows 10 Locking up. Need help narrowing down cause


    So my roommate's PC/OS has been locking up watching YouTube and twitch mostly on a browser. Started shortly after the 6th. At first it was on google chrome so i had him switch to Microsoft edge and getting same result and today it did a BSOD Driver State Power Failure. It produced a log but not sure how to access it to post the relative info here.


    These are the steps we've taken so far:


    Made sure Windows 10 is up to date

    Used Compressed Air to clean the inside of the PC of any dust.

    Stress Tested the CPU chip with Prime95

    Stress Tested the GPU with Furmark

    Did a clean uninstall of GPU drivers using DDU and then did a clean install of latest Nvidia Drivers

    Did a Windows Integrity Scan. Did find some corrupt files and fixed them. Still didn't resolve issues.

    Went on MSI's motherboard driver page. Updated all drivers and made sure had latest BIOS minus the beta it just released for AMD 5000 series chips,

    Ran Windows Defender Scan and Malwarebytes scan. Both came up clean


    HIs PC Specs are:


    AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 4.2 Ghz

    GTX 1070 SC Black Edition

    MSI X470 Gaming Plus Motherboard

    16GB of RAM

    EVGA PSU 750w Bronze 80+

    Samsung Evo 970 500GB SSD NVMe

    2TB HDD for games, etc.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    windows 10 lock screen problems that microsoft cannot fix as of may 2017

    Hi,

    There are several factors that may cause the lock screen issue. To narrow down the concern, we’d like to request additional information.

    • Just for verification, are you using Window 10 Creators Update?
    • What is your computer’s screen resolution?
    • Would it be possible to send us a screenshot?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Major BUG: GPU-Z causes Windows 10 PC to hard lock

    I am a proud beta tester of GPU-Z! Also, I have suggested many features/new functions over the years, many of which were implemented by GPU-Z author. *Smile Windows 10 Locking up. Need help narrowing down cause :)
    So, I like GPU-Z and do not want to use anything else for this.

    Could be not GPU-Z, in fact. Maybe a combination of those latest AMD Radeon drivers+my Windows 10 being Insider Preview.
    MY Windows 10 OS is the Insider Preview kind, maybe I should have mentioned that.

    RE Core Temp, I have translated it into Bulgarian, and also suggested some new features, implemented by author (for Core Temp, just a few - less than those I suggested for GPU-Z). *Smile Windows 10 Locking up. Need help narrowing down cause :)
    So, likewise I like it and do not want to stop using it. *Wink Windows 10 Locking up. Need help narrowing down cause ;)
