    windows 10 locks up automatically while playing games


    hello, When i was playing games on my laptop after few minutes the laptop suddenly starts 'locking' with blue background window, then i would have to turn the laptop on, this issue started happening after i did a reset for windows 10 pro, this happens only while my laptop is plugged in to the charger.laptop details:OMEN by HP LaptopWindows 10 19034RAM 16GBGraphic card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M1TB HDDIntelR CoreTM i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHzi need help please.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    • Are you playing the game online or offline?


    I suggest you to try installing the game in compatibility mode and check:

    Follow these steps to install the game in compatibility mode.


    • Download the game from the manufacturer’s website.

    • Right-click on the game setup file and click on
      ‘properties’.

    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
      ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 10 from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

    Windows 10 automatically seems to throttle once i start to play a game

    I would require more information to help you better.

    • Is the issue confined to a particular game?
    • Are you playing online game or through a disk?
    • Do you receive any error message or code?


    First I suggest you to reboot your system and check.

    This issue seems to be due to some issues with the graphics card or its drivers on the computer. I would suggest you to try updating the graphics card drivers and check if that resolves the issue. To do this, I would suggest you to refer to the article
    given below and try the suggestions given in it and check if that resolves the issue.
