Windows 10: Windows 10 Login Alpha Pin not Working

Signed out of Widows last night. This morning, entered pin to logon but no alpha characters appeared in entry box.

Another user who has all numeric pin did not have same problem signing in.

Had to login with Microsoft password. Changed pin to all numbers. No problem signing in.

Why did this happen ??

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Pin won't work on my login anymore

My HP Windows 10 computer recently required me to update my bios, which I did. Now I have to use my FULL login in order to get on the computer. I use to be able to use my pin number.

To answer your top 3 questions before you ask them:

1. Are you prompted to enter the complete login credentials every time when you turn on the PC?
   Yes
   
2. Are you not able to login into your user account?
   I can login but only with full password or picture password.
   
3. Are you using Microsoft Account credentials to login into your PC?
   Yes
   

I have tried removing the pin then adding it back as well as changing the pin several times as well as adding alpha numeric. Nothing I do seems to work.

Would appreciate your guidance to resolve this issue.

 

Unable to login using The login PIN

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the pin and check fi it helps.

• In the login page next to “PIN password option”.
• You will find “Other sign in options”, click on it will prompt you for regular password.
• Enter regular password and login to the computer.
• I suggest you to click on the Start Menu
  and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Under the “PIN tab” click on “ADD” option.
• It will prompt you for current pin password and new password, please provide
  new password then apply the changes, restart
  the computer and check if it works.
