    Windows 10 Loop

I have only had my new desktop pc for 5 months. It was running Windows 7 pro and until my trouble started I did not have a problem using it from new.
I updated all my drivers then I did a windows update for all the new updates which included the new windows 10 upgrade. The new windows 10 upgrade seem to go alright and I then logged in and started to my desktop pc.
After using it for awhile the monitor went blank my hard drive red light went out and the cpu fan carried on running for a few seconds then stopped. The red hard drive light then came on the cpu fan started and I was briefly taken to my log in screen before it happened again and again until I held in the on/off button until it switched off. After that sometimes started the pc up it would produce the same problem when I reached the log in screen so I never had a chance to log in. When the problem happened and the hard drive red light came back on it did not perform a full reboot it just did something that looked like it was coming out of sleep mode.
At the moment my computer is back with my supplier in Germany who says that they cannot find any problems with the pcs components so it looks like a windows 10 upgrade issue? They are going to reinstall windows 7 pro back on to the computer before they return it to me.
Please note I have installed Windows 10 on 2 other computers that I own without any problems happening so far!!
Has anyone seen this problem before or know what to do to resolve this problem when I get my computer back from the supplier?
    Regards.

    :)

    Hi

When you get the system back, what I would do personally is make a System Image of your C:\ drive.
And a bootable restore disk, to go with it.

I use EaseUS TODO backup and restore, myself.
It will make the backup and create a restore disk.

I restored Windows 10 with it 7 times during the testing phase, and it worked great.

Once you can get back to your present setup, I'd try and do the upgrade again.
It's possible that you just had some fluky thing happen on the last try.

If you get the same thing again, then I'd restore back to your current setup and keep it that way for now.

You might want to run a search for the components in you computer (i.e. your video card + "compatibility issues with Windows 10") and see if anything comes up about compatibility issues that other people are having with Windows 10, but I wouldn't expect to see them on a computer that new.

It would help if you posted the brand and specs for your computer.

Assuming there's no hardware conflict or issue, if you have the same thing happen, note the time, then look at the event log - assuming you get the chance to do so! If you can't boot into normal mode, try booting into safe mode. The event log may help you identify the problem.

It's possible you have something installed which runs in Win 7 (you said you did an upgrade) but is incompatible with Win 10. If so, and if you can boot into safe mode, then using task man to disable startups, msconfig to disable services, may help you identify or confirm what you have found- or of course, simply uninstall it.

It's possible it may be a driver issue in Win 10, where an inappropriate driver has been installed by Windows. But without some more specific information, it's impossible to say.

Thanks to Mike Hawthorne and Dalchina for their advice. Thanks to Mike for link to the free backup software. I am not expecting to get my computer back from Germany for another 7-10 days but I will act on your advice then. I will raise the issue again if the problem is still there once I get the computer up and running and the Windows 10 upgrade is installed.
