Windows 10 losing 4hours of time over a 10.0 hour period.

    Hi,

I would like to know which update from last PATCH Tuesday caused my Windows 10 to start loosing 4hours time over night? The only thing that's changed on my PC for the past few months is Window's updates, and this started happening after the last PATCH Tuesday Aug. 11, 2020.

This just started happening. For the past few nights I go to bed at around 10-12PM. I wake up at 7-8AM. I usually shut my PC down over night but for the past 5 or 6 nights I have not been shutting down, I just lock it on go to bed. I can probably fix this with a scheduled task but I wonder why it is happening in the first place. I have no certifications in IT so I would like to be treated as if I know nothing. Thanks.

I have already changed the battery on my motherboard for a brand spanking new fresh one on Aug. 15th, 2020. The new CMOS battery did not resolve this issue, which brings me back to a windows update.

All updates applied for my version of windows. I defer major feature update releases for at least 3-6 months to allow Microsoft to fix their beta releases to the public. No, I won't listen to any arguments about how this is bad, every single major feature update there are hundreds of thousands of posts from people with bad update experiences. My way it just works, I've had one bad update experience since windows 10 was released. All the rest of you ID10T's pronounced I-D-TEN-T's for the non-technical can be beta free beta testers for MS if you like, each to their own.

So for all the people who answer here and don't actually read the posters information the list of stuff they'll ask questions about and try to troubleshoot unnecessarily.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
