Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail App Displaying AOL as code

My Windows 10 Mail App is displaying many, but not all, incoming AOL emails as code. My Gmail and Hotmail accounts are fine. I spent almost two hours with an online Microsoft tech, to no avail. He took over my computer and tried everything he could think of. The best he could come up with was that it was a bug in the app. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? I have alternative ways to access that account, but I like using the app since I have the three accounts.

• If yes, then is that an additional account?

If your AOL is an additional account in Windows 10 Mail App, then I suggest you to remove the account and reconfigure it and check the behavior. And if your AOL is primary a account, please get back to us for further assistance.

Windows Live Mail with (Verizon) AOL help!!

I received this email from AOL back in November.

That’s why we’re reaching out today. We’ve noticed that you’re using non-AOL applications (such as third-party email, calendar, or contact applications) that may use a less secure sign-in method. To protect you and your data, AOL will no longer support the current sign-in functionality in your application starting on December 7, 2021. This means that you will need to take one of the steps below to continue using your AOL Mail without interruption. But don’t worry, you have options: Option 1: We recommend that you access your mail using our free AOL app for iOS and Android or simply go to mail.aol.com to access AOL Mail on the web. Option 2: Keep your current, non-AOL app, BUT follow a few steps to get it to sync with our secure sign-in method.
