Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail App - Name Change?

Hello! There is an issue with the mail app that has been letting out my name to clients. I am unable to change it.


This is quite disheartening and I'm ashamed on Microsoft's behalf to find there has been no update to this bug. However, I am hoping someone knows at least a quick fix for the bug.


In the Mail app, only occasionally when signing up with a non-outlook account, it allows you to select the name with which you send emails from your email account. When I sign up with only gmail accounts, it seems to work. However, my one email address when I overrode my personal name using this feature showed simply as "Microsoft Outlook"!


I don't understand the conflict or where my real name is showing to keep feeding it into the app like this. There is also no way to change the sender name after initially setting it, without signing out of the app overall!


I wish the devs would look into it at least a little. It's a very good app! It just has a few... many problems.


Does anyone know how to force the name to be what you want on the Mail App for Win10?

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
