Windows 10: Windows 10 Mail "Search Online" stopped working

Hello,


I think this just started with the latest update to the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar App.


When I do a search for something and have to click on "Search Online" to get older results, when I click on any of those results the app starts "deleting" the entire search results list - they scroll up and disappear. I put "" around deleting because the messages aren't really deleted from the server but in effect you can't view any of the results because in a few seconds the message that you click to view and all of the other search results disappear.


The account I have it linked to is on a MS-Exchange 2007 server.


Anybody else experiencing this?

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Windows 10 Mail has stopped working

From the above description, I understand, you can get into your Outlook.com account and access your emails in web based interface Outlook.com

• As you mentioned, "My Windows 10 Mail has stopped working", do you mean Windows 10 Mail App?

• 
  Do you see any error message?
  
• 
  The account you are facing issues with, is that the only and primary account configured in Windows 10 Mail App or it is an additional account?
  

If additional account, then I suggest
remove the account and reconfigure it, and check the behavior. This doesn’t delete the original account or messages—you’ll still be able to get to them through a browser.

I also suggest you to go to People.Live.com
and check if you are able to access your contacts from web based interface.

Windows 10 Search Stops Working

Method 1:

I suggest you try rebuilding the index and check if issue is resolved. To rebuild all the index, kindly follow the below given steps:

• Press Windows key, type Indexing and hit enter.
• Click on Advanced button.
• Click Rebuild under Troubleshooting section and click OK.
• Try searching and see if issue is fixed.

Method 2:

If issue persist, I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow the below given steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
• In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter.
• Restart the computer.

Method 3:

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
• In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth



3. Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
