  1. Windows 10 Mail Windows 10 version 20H2 no longer finding Office 365 Email Accounts

I have a number of Exchange Online Office 365 --- NOT outlook.com accounts that I use for business email. I user Windows Mail on my Windows tablet device as it is better for touch. I don't add the accounts as Work Accounts as I don't want the work policies specifically no account sync. The email accounts are working fine in general - BUT having removed them to fix another issue I am unable to add them back in Windows 10 Mail.

The process of selecting New Email Account / Office365 / Username / Password all seems ok up until that point, but then the screen, after some time, says "account not found" which is obviously wrong as it is working fine elsewhere and I can logon to OWA.

I have checked everything in terms of configuration and can't find anything wrong --- has anyone else seen this and/or is there a new problem with the Windows 10 Mail client in 20H2 which means that it can't correctly find the necessary information for Office 365 Exchange Online accounts to be able to setup the mail client correctly?

    :)

Outlook Mail windows 10 and OFFICE 365

Due to a recent cyber fraud incident on my Windows PC, I have run a full reset, and on 20/11/17 installed Windows 10 Version 1703 (x64 bit) and the latest Microsoft Office 365 home Personal Version 1710 (Build
    8625.2139 Click-to-Run)

Unfortunately, I was not aware that Microsoft had ceased to have my e-mail management program, Windows Live Mail, available to download.

So, I looked at the two e-mail management apps available in Windows, to use for managing my e-mails on the computer i.e. [A] Office 365 Outlook Mail or the Windows 10 Mail app.

Having decided to continue with option [A] Office 365, for my main gmail.com account and use the Windows 10 Mail app. for my secondary gmail.com account. Both e-mail accounts are linked to an IMAP server (Virgin Media).

Previously I was happy to access my secondary email on the web, as I had little need for offline storage on that account.

However, I concerned that deleting the email address registered on the Windows 10 Mail app will also remove everything on the Office 265 Mail App, where I have filing my e-mails in personal storage folders (i.e. available offline)

The default e-mail app is set to Outlook 2016 with icon for Office 265 Mail.

Will that default operate for all programs or just those in Office 365?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Windows 10 Mail Windows 10 version 20H2 no longer finding Office 365 Email Accounts

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
