Windows 10: Windows 10 makes disconnecting and/or reconnecting sound every 10 mins...any solutions?

Hey Reddit!

Was hoping to get some advice on this! So every 10 min or so, my PC plays the USB peripheral disconnect and/or reconnect sound. It all of a sudden started doing this yesterday. Happens kinda randomly, browsing the internet, playings games, working on a word document, literally anything. Outside of what feels like the computer something freezing ~50%

I have checked all the USB connections to make sure they are stable in the port, they are. Im starting to think it is my mouse (G900) as when the sound does play I lose the ability to use the mouse for that second, but Im honestly not sure if its the mouse not responding, or the display freezing for a second.

have also tried:

Uninstall/Reinstall USB controller Drivers

Turning off Power Saving Options

Event viewer / windows logs (applications and system)

have tried using different peripherals (keyboard, mouse)

tried taking out other peripherals one by one and only plugging them back in if I heard the sound 2-3 times after taking that particular peripheral out

obviously tried restarting, safe mode and system scans

I guess my question is can anyone help me diagnose either what is connecting / disconnecting [maybe some hidden windows log that will tell me what peripheral or even what USB port is recognizing the change)? OR at least a way to turn off the notification in the short term?

Random USB Disconnects-reconnects for unknown device.

Hi all, I have a clean install windows 10 home with the specs listed in my profile.

Im getting continuous disconnect USB sounds, often multiple times in a row, and the occasional reconnect sound.

Ive used a program call USBDeview, and can confidently say it is the top tow devices that disconnect and reconnect. I'm unsure what they are and how to solve the problem.

It doesnt happen 24/7, but sometimes it will do it for 40 mins and sometimes 5 mins then stop etc etc, very random.

I dont have any External HDD plugged into drives J K L M, but they normally get assigned to .iso's or Portable HDD's.

I suggest you to Change the USB power management settings and check.

  Open Device Manager.
  
• 
  Double-click the type USB to change power management settings.
  
• 
  Right-click the specific device you want, and then click
  Properties.

  On the Power Management tab, change the power management settings.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
