Windows 10: Windows 10 May 2004 Update - Search Bar No Longer Working

Hey All -

I just got the download for the 2004 update today, and after completing the update, am no longer able to use the search bar on my computer. If I click into it, it tries to pop up a blank window before instantly closing back down again. I also seem to be missing the SearchUI.exe task in system manager. I've tried using the search troubleshooter in settings to no avail, and also ran some powershell commands from some troubleshooting threads on /u/welter_skelter

Windows 10 Build 2004 Update Windows Search Not Working

After updating to Build 2004, Windows Search and File Explorer Quick Access no longer work. The troubleshooter reports no problems. Any suggestions? I am on a 64 bit Lenovo desktop, with Windows operating on a SSD.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Windows 10 download speed issues

Try this method:

• First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).
• locate and select “Update and Security“.
• in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.
• In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.
• Turn off Updates from more than one place.
