    Hi,

    I purchased my laptop with Windows 10 Home installed a few years ago, 6 months ago a guy (was a friend now not so sure) cleaned my laptop and seems to have installed Windows 10 Pro with a work key, this no longer works ans my laptop is saying I need to activate my licence. The place where I work say my laptop is not part of their system so they won't help me.

    How do I revert back to the Home version?

    I have tried updating but it still says the same message.

    I have tried to install a clean version but keep getting error message 0x80072F76-0x20016.

    I don't want to buy a new licence as I already have one.

    I have managed to get the licence key on my laptop but don't know what to do next.

    Please help.

    I won't buy a key, stupid.

    I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

    When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
    is that causing the problem?

    • Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

      Note
      • This only applies if you haven't made changes to the hardware for your device.

    or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack
