    Windows 10 Microsoft photo viewer problems


    I am having difficulties with the Microsoft Photo Viewer program. When I try to open various JPG files, sometimes they will open just fine but sometimes, they will not open at all. This is an intermittent problem and does not happen all the time. I have tried to uninstall and re-install the program but this didn’t help.

    I have downloaded this, and it did not work; photo viewer is not in the list of programs in Open With or Default App. I used option 2 step 3, followed by step 5 to 9.

    Windows 10 default image viewer

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps in order to change the default image viewer to Paint.

    • In search,
    • Type Default Programs.
    • Check whether Windows Photo Viewer is listed in the list.
    • Left click on the photo viewer and select the option paint.

    Windows 10 Microsoft photo viewer problems

    Replacement for photo viewer

    Win ver 19041.388

    Just do not like this "new" photo viewer, it is just cumbersome to operate, lot of extra steps etc. I like the older Win photo viewer, however since JPG files are saved as "unhandled Extension handler finder", *Confused I need something else. Appreciate any suggestions that is not overly optioned, just a simple viewer. Tx
