Windows 10: Windows 10 Mid_February update

When installation of recent mid-February Windows 10 update was completed on my laptop and startup was attempted, the computer came up in a mode where a "repair" was to be attempted. I tried at least one of the options offered with no success in getting the machine to run before successfully starting up by uninstalling the most recent Windows update. Not too long after that I started getting messages saying the installed previous version of Windows was nearing the end of its lifetime and trying to get me to re-install the version that I had just had to unintall. So far I have been able to avoid doing this by closing the messages. Now the messages are getting more unavoidable, with the only viable option being "Remind me later." How can I prevent Microsoft's update service from rendering my computer unusable? The situation seems slightly outrageous to say the least.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
