Windows 10: Windows 10 Mobile for Phone build 10136 to be released on Fast ring

I've been with a full bar and spinning gears for ages now *cry

 

Installed now but mega slow and text messaging isn't working, it may still be doing stuff so I'll leave it alone and come back to it later.

 

Also a restart may help. I know it does with Android. Sometimes more than one is needed.

 

Yeah, probably downloading and installing app updates.

 

I don't see an option to turn off the Glance screen. Anyone spot it yet?

 

How are you guys doing with this build? Is it stable?

 

So far I'm not having any issues other than not finding the setting to turn off the glance screen yet.

Perhaps they yanked that setting due to most users using it? A possibility.

I'm experiencing my screen jumping around from time to time. Sometimes Cortana or an app will open. It goes wild. A click on the power (sleep) button then wake again cures it. Tried setting touch to normal doesn't help. I don't think it's a hardware problem since the tactic works. Are you experiencing this at all?

I'm going to give it another week to see how you guys are doing. This phone is just too important to me.

 

I'm hoping the setting will get added back soon.

I haven't had any apps open like that on me. I've had the Start screen background get distorted sometimes, but toggling any one of it's settings in Personalization fixes that.

 

I'll pass mobile builds until RTM.
My experience with last builds wasn't that good!

Do you have trouble with glance or just miss the various settings?

No distortion of backgrounds myself. I'm just hoping my screen isn't failing. I think it to be software though.

 

On my laptop, I have a similar experience (apps sometimes open - often a few ... but no jumping screen). This seems to occur when I toggle Tablet mode - on then off drives the uni apps up a wall *Wink

I fed MS - a bug in 10.0.130 methinks.

edit: the Start screen is buggy of course - tiles rearrange, re-size or disappear. Maybe on a phone that manifests as jumping.

New Win10 phone build is very nice, I see the vision and it looks pretty *Smile

 

The wishes I posted above are there!

However, with all the fixes comes more bugs.

Individual text tones or the ability to set custom ringtones for search as in 8.1 and build 10080 has disappeared. Also, I had Glance and Extras in Settings after my first flash of 10136 and using a backup. Had the double phone and messaging apps issue though, set my Glance background and left it overnight and of course and when I woke, Glance disappeared. I got it back in Glance settings and then later in the day a couple of my apps quit working or they'd crash. I decided to do a clean reset and not restore from backup and Glance is gone, however it works. I had to get the app through Sys App Pusher. However, the Glance app won't download. Getting an error. Call + SMS filter also errors upon opening. Going to do one more clean reset and immediately download Glance and Call filter first to see if it'll download and then give up.

Overall, they've fixed a lot of the ui inconsistencies and black Cortana and Edge is there, although the results or content are still white which suck. They just need to quit breaking things.

And, the most important feature I can't wait to come is the Skype messaging integration so texts can be received and sent from any 10 device. That just can't come soon enough.

I think with 3-4 more builds it should be ready. Just in time for fall as expected, right? Until the next build....

 

glance to be found settings -> extras -> somewhere there you should have it (its vilkaisunäyttö in finnish) id reckon.

anyway, slight slowness on this build but man, its awesome upgrade! totally hawt stuff!
