Windows 10: Windows 10 Mouse Lagging

Discus and support Windows 10 Mouse Lagging in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I found the issue! It was related to a Realtek Program named FMAPP.exe. Stopping it in Task Manager and excluding it from starting at Boot solved... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware' started by daniels7, Aug 7, 2015.

Folks, I had the same issue, but for me the fix was to move my mouse (Logitech G7) from a USB2 to a USB3 port. Someone else in this thread said this. I realised that my problem had only just started after a computer clean. I obviously plugged the mouse into a different port when I put it back together. I don't have the FMAPP.EXE process running, but I do have the file. I haven't renamed it. Just moved the Mouse USB port. This fix seems a bit weird, since my Mouse is quite old (pre-USB3 I think), but who cares if it works.

Yes its the Realtek Driver and its FMAPP.EXE file. By the way new driver update available. Just update via device manager. Its been permanently fixed.

My mouse lag has come back today. I've already got the Realtek HDA driver v6.0.1.7724 installed. Guess I'll try the rename of the FMAPP.EXE file and see if that fixes it. Damn annoying.

  7. So far mine is working fine after the update... Try stopping it from loading in the boot... See the daniels7 's suggestion in this thread...

This is not a driver problem: Go to settings, additional mouse options - settings - advanced tab - and set your "filter activation" setting to zero. Apply and enjoy the lag free pointer!!

Mind posting a screenshot of that specific setting? I'm not seeing it on my Lenovo Thinkpad Helix.

I uninstalled the Realtek Audio driver and the lag is gone. This seems to point to a Realtek driver issue.

After trying everything suggested in this thread and others, I decided to replace my mouse. The troublesome mouse was a Logitech G7 wireless mouse. I think my problem was intermittent and related to the mouse wireless itself. I now have a Logitech G502 and no lag at all. It's wired USB. So for now my problem is solved.

Both the trackpad and optical mouse were lagging on a friend's laptop.

I was able to solve by going to Settings, Devices, Mouse and Touchpad, Additional mouse options

then click on the Pointer Options tab and unclick 'Enhance pointer precision' if it has been clicked.

    Go to setting>devices>scroll to bottom>device manager>expand audio>right click realtek>disable>restart computer>right click muted speaker on toolbar>detect problems>enable realtek>restart computer. Enjoy.

    Windows 10 Mouse Lagging

*Smile Thanks guys. You saved my marriage! I gave my wife a Lenovo Flex 3 for her birthday. She wanted her old PC back right away due to the mouse lag/Realtek mess. I fixed the issue thanks to you. One question: There were a number of threads concerning re-naming the FMAPP.exe with new extensions. Why do I need to do that? So far, I have fixed the issue with removal of 4 Realtek programs in Task Manager>Processes, AND the "disable" of Realtek programs in Task Manager>Startup. Anyway, I cannot find FMAPP.exe now that I removed or disabled Realtek in the Task Manager. Thanks.

Hey guys, I've tried everything you guys suggested however the stuttering problem still occurs. I've tried to find and disable the Realtek audio in the startup but I couldn't find it. I also rename the FMAPP.exe to FMAPP.exe.old but it seems din really work well (this is not in the Task Manager either). Please help!!

  15. Me, too. I was able to find the program and change the name. But it never was in the processes list in the Task Manager. Oddly, it seemed to help, but not completely cure the problem. So something else must be contributing to the issue.
