Windows 10: Windows 10 my media files won't open anymore - it shows opens with groove music

and shows



File system error (-2147219196)


I have tons of private media files that I need to open and review (talks, conferences)


it used to open file every time clicked on a file


now it says opening with groove music and shows this error


please help me

Groove Music Can't Open

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions regarding the query:

• Did you check if the Groove Music app is installed in your PC?
• What does the status under Groove Music app show when you go to Windows Store?

I suggest you to run the apps troubleshooter included within Windows OS manually by following the steps below and check if the issue persist.



In many cases, the Windows Store will automatically notify you if there’s a problem with an app and try to fix the problem. If you continue experiencing problems with an app, this tool can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps and the Store.

• Type troubleshooting in the search box next to
  Start icon and select the top most search result.
• Click on View All from the left hand screen panel.
• Select Windows Store apps, click on
  Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically
  option.
• Follow the on screen instructions.

Duplicates in Groove Music

Thank you for using Windows 10.

I suggest you to run the App troubleshooter and check if that helps:

I would also suggest you to turn off and on the media info of Groove music and check. here is the steps:

• Open Groove Music.
• Click on Gear icon (settings) present on the left side of the app.
• Turn Off the media info and then turn it on.

Don't Open Media File in Groove Music and Movies & TV


Hello everyone!
After I installed Windows 10, I can not hear music by Groove Music software, Windows Media Player and video Movies & TV software.
If I open the song by Groove Music by double-click the song, then get the error as shown below
If I open the video using Windows Media Player or play video Movies & TV is very short and lag like "slow motion". I tried to download VLC on and be a similar situation
I tried to download K-Lite Code Pack to install and can only watch and listen with Media Player Classic ....
