Windows 10 Newest update changed File Explorer, how to revert back?

Hello, I was prompted to update windows, and after coming back, File Explorer's new look has a lot of changes I really dislike. The headbar has a lot of empty space, the folder icons are way too small now and indistinguishable, and the BIG "Manage" option in the middle is extremely distracting and annoying. However the thing that REALLY frustrates me is that I've been relying on a software called "Groupy" by Stardock which allowed me to group open windows/applications together, and an extra convenience this allowed is that when hovering over a taskbar icon, I could just quickly open the file exp

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

File explorer always reverts to top of window when wallpaper changes

    Hi all,

This issue occurs when "Automatically select highlight color from my wallpaper" checkbox is ticked.
When I open Windows Explorer and display a long list of folders and/or files, going down through them, each time the wallpaper changes Windows Explorer reverts to the top of the list even if an element is selected lower in the list.

From update to update this issue never has been fixed. However, I read some time ago this issue was known by MS.

Do other users experience such an issue? Is there a way to fix it anyway (e.g. using registry) ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Default to Large Icon in Windows 10 File Explorer reverting

Hi Dave, and thanks for responding to my post.

I have done as you suggest in your post and File Explorer show Large Icons across the board and stays that way for a while, but then it reverts to a mix of Large Icons, List, Details etc.

Is there a way I can ensure it stays on Large Icons until such time as I choose to change it?
