  1. Windows 10 no longer gives me access to my own computer.

Recently, I got a new computer, and had not done much yet. I was given a free 30 day trial of McAfee antivirus.

I had tried to download a popular game "Team fortress 2" but when I tried to open the game, I was prompted to download the steam client itself.

Then, it told me to enter a username and password, with the only option being "NO".

I thought it was strange, but when i tried to enter google chrome as an administrator,I got the same dialog.

I had realized, i was no longer an administrator. There is one account on my computer. So if im not the administrator, who is? Nobody. My computer has overthrown me. I can no longer install programs. I need administrator permissions back

I know microsoft will just pin it on my antivirus, becuase they dont know how their OWN SYSTEM WORKS. Or, Microsoft will just say "oh you have to enable the secret admin account-" That doesnt work, i just get access denied.

Please help, i dont want to use linux.

    Jack-

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. access BIOS settings in Win 10

I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?

Windows 10 no longer gives me access to my own computer.

One computer cannot access other network computers.

So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:
    • Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
    • Ran a bunch of network commands:
      • flushed DNS
      • registered dns
      • pinged and located the named computers successfully
    • Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?
