Windows 10: Windows 10 no longer sees 3 separate card readers, instead 1 Windows Hello for Business...

Hi,Last week, after some windows updates, 3 separate USB card readers Gemalto IDBridge CT30 stopped working correctly.After uninstalling these Windows Updates, Windows got corrupt. The well known flashing taksbar issueSo I reinstalled Windows 10, completly. And after that, the 3 USB card readers worked great again.I disabled the Windows Update Service, but unfortunately, Windows Updates were applied and the card readers stopped working, again.The application, build on .Net 4.8, recognizes the 3 cardreaders, now as 1 "Windows Hello for Business Cardreader". The smartcard info is needed, to

Problem with card readers after mirgration to Win10

I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.

2. Change View by from Category to Small Icons/Large Icons.

3. Click on Troubleshooting.

4. Select Hardware and Devices and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Update Card reader driver

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Search for your card reader driver.
• Right-click on the Card reader driver and select
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart your system

Method 3: Uninstall and then re-install Card reader driver

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Search for your card reader driver.
• Right-click on the Card reader driver
  and select Uninstall.
• Restart your system.
• Let you system scan for new hardware and install relevant driver for your card reader.

Card reader windows 10 not working

Step 1: I would suggest you to run
Hardware and device troubleshooter and check. Please follow these steps:

a. Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.

b. Click troubleshooting in the search results.

c. Click "View all" and then click "Hardware and device".

d. Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.



Step 2: You can update drivers from the Device Manager.

Follow the steps to update drivers from the
Device Manager:

1. Right click on Start button, type
Device Manager and Enter.

2. Find the drivers which needs to be installed and also see if there are any warning symbols. If yes update the drivers.

3. Right click on the device and click on
Update driver.
