Windows 10: Windows 10 not activated

Hello,I recently purchased a used laptop and it does have Windows 10 installed in it but it says that it's not activated. Now if I buy a new product key for Windows 10 it would cost me double the price of used laptop I bought. Please help

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
