Windows 10: Windows 10 not activating

I've had Windows 10 Pro running on this computer for about half a year, my key had no expiry date that I was aware of but suddenly Windows kept telling me my key was about to expire. I ignored it and suddenly I had the activate Windows watermark, so I gave in and bought a new key off the Microsoft store and that doesn't work either. In a pretty sour mood rn being put back $200 for nothing and I'm seeking any help or answers on how to fix this problem and would also like a refund.

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

• Go to Start
