Windows 10: Windows 10 not allowing pinning of Google Drive on taskbar except through file explorer

Hi,


Despite having the Google Drive Icon pinned to the Taskbar on all my other and previous PCs and Laptops, a recently reformatted Asus All-in-One PC with a clean install of Win 10 build 19041.630 awaiting update to 20H2 will not allow it.


Have tried all the normal methods, including right clicking every Google Drive icon on the planet but the "Pin to Taskbar" option is not available. Dragging the Google Drive icon only offers the "Pin to File Explorer" Option.

May I assume that the Microsoft v Google jealousy and childlike behaviour has found a new toy to target and squabble over in the sandpit?

Would be most grateful for any suggestions.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Cannot launch File Explorer from taskbar in Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• First unpin the File Explorer from the task bar.
• Press Windows + E.
• And right click on File Explorer in the taskbar.
• And Pin the File Explorer to Taskbar and Check if it helps.
