Windows 10: Windows 10 not detecting when 2nd display is off

Hello, I have a TCL Roku TV I use as an external monitor. When selecting "Extend displays" in Settings, things work fine, but when I turn the TV off, Windows does not detect the change and continues to open applications on the monitor that is off. Is there a solution for this? If not, is there an easy way I can toggle "Extend displays" without having to go into settings each time?

Windows 10 upgrade to 1709 does not detect my other display.

Is there a fix? And is it possible to stop the force feeding of the 1709 build?

Windows 10 upgrade to 1709 does not detect my other display. I have tried every suggestion listed here to no avail. Including installing KB4057291. Going back to the prior build again. NVidia graphics card not listed as display adaptor because it will not
recognize my 2nd display. Yet once i go back my 2nd display and screen settings come back

 

Laptop display does not detect itself

In regards to your concern, since the second screen can't detect the display settings of your other laptop, we suggest that you perform the steps below and see if it helps:

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Under System, choose Display.
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply.

Windows 10 stopped detecting 2nd monitor

I've restarted the computer (several times), and it's not showing any signs of detecting the 2nd monitor.

Ever since it stopped working, there's only '1' Display option; clicking 'Detect' in Multiple displays results in the message
"Didn't detect another display"; the Device Manager only lists one monitor (screenshot below); and it has stopped allowing me to select other projection modes unless I connect to the 2nd monitor wirelessly.

I'm using an HDMI cable for the 2nd monitor, and have tried both HDMI ports on the monitor unsuccessfully. The monitor models are Dell E2414H and LG 24J4840.
