Windows 10: Windows 10 not letting me change brightness

I have windows 10 version 10.0.18363, I'm running bootcamp on an iMac 17,1 Retina 5k that's a few years old. This hasn't always been a problem with my system, and I haven't a clue what caused it. I found that after my computer has been running for a while, and I have to wake it up after it goes to sleep after I'm not on it for a bit, that it becomes stuck at the brightness it was at beforehand and regardless of how I change the slider it will remain there. So I have to restart my computer, and upon restart, it starts working again. It's hurting my eyes while I'm writing this. I tried fooling around with drivers, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

Brightness changing problem

Changing the screen brightness on your laptop can be adjusted by going to
System > Display where you can use the slider to adjust the brightness. If your PC supports, you may also let Windows to automatically adjust the screen brightness according to the current lighting condition by enabling
Change brightness automatically when lighting changes.

If you've already the tried the suggestions above but the screen brightness still doesn't change, then we suggest updating the display drivers. Please see

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.
