Windows 10 not letting users format drives with 4096 bytes NTFS

On Windows 10 version 21H2 19044.2130 Windows won't let me format the drive to its physical sector size of 4096 bytes:I'm running model WUH721816ALE6L4 with the advanced format for 4K sector drives from the attached datasheet. According to the article Microsoft support policy for 4K sector hard drives in Windows this format is being supported. When opening Windows Key + R > diskmgmt.msc I get the following options, still without the option of formatting the drive into the advanced format sector size:But when the partition gets deleted and a new one is created, there is an option to format

    :)

diskpart formatting 4K drives to use 4096 bytes per sector instead of 512

I Installed Windows 10 on 1TB hard drive.

After doing some research I learned that my drive is 4K native, physical sector size is 4096 as shown in below command output:

however as you can see the partition is formatted as 512B per sector.
Since Windows 8 and 10 supports 4k format I wonder what did I wrong while formatting the drive?

I formatted the drive like this:

afterwards I selected this partition in installer and let him partition other needed partitions.

what commands do I need to use to partition HDD so that it's formatted as 4K per sector instead of 512?

I recently converted a Legacy multi-boot drive to EFI multi-boot with advanced 4K sector format, Shouldn't t bytes per sector be 4096 in Windows 10 and 8.1?

    Original title: Advanced Format

I recently converted a Legacy multi-boot drive to EFI multi-boot with advanced 4K sector format. The reason was to eliminated the Extended DOS logical drives and to take advantage to 4K sectors.

After conversion, running the File System Utility in Windows 10, 8.1 and 7, via the command line (fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo c: ), displayed the following sector configuration:

    Bytes Per Sector : 512

Bytes Per Physical Sector : 4096

    Bytes Per Cluster : 4096

    Bytes Per FileRecord Segment 1024

    Shouldn't t bytes per sector be 4096 in Windows 10 and 8.1?

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

    ¿You already tried this one?...

    Run CMD

    1. diskpart
    2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

    2. select disk #
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

    good luck!
