Windows 10: Windows 10 - Nvidia drivers causing system-wide stutter

I’ve noticed that my pc will completely halt for a split second as Steam, Oculus, or the Nvidia Control Panel open. I thought this was a mouse / USB issue but the system also halts if I’m operating the cursor using the Rift S touch controllers. I now use a powered USB hub for my mouse and Rift S, which was purchased with hopes of resolving the stutter.I’ve wiped and reinstalled windows a good 5-6 times out of frustration and have narrowed the issue down to Nvidia drivers. I’m curious if anyone recognizes the issue. This normally happens as I start these programs for the first time. It won’

Audio driver conflict causing stuttering?

Hi Techhelper89,

Unfortunately, I did the instructions as mentioned in the thread and the stuttering persists. I used the link provided: and the steps requested

I also tried reinstalling the Realtek Audio drivers as suggested by the thread to no avail.

I've also added some links of how the stuttering looks and sounds like to the main post of this thread. I hope it helps identify the issue.

One more thing I noticed after the above steps is that I can boot with Nvidia HD Audio drivers disabled but the stuttering persist. Enabling then disabling "cures" the stuttering for a while. Although, when this is happening while the Nvidia Audio drivers are
disabled (as there is an enable option) the icon doesn't look like one that is normally disabled (with a small circular arrow down icon).

I suggest you to follow the below method and check if it helps:

Method 1 uninstall the
Nvidia drivers and check if it helps.

Step 1: uninstall the Nvidia Driver drivers.

a. Press Windows + X, Click Device
Manager.

b. Expand Display Adapters.

c. Check if the name of the graphic card is the list.

d. Right click on it and click uninstall.

e. Once you uninstall the drivers it will prompt to restart the computer, do not restart the computer.

f. It will take default drivers in the computer.

Step 2: Reinstall the drivers.

Please download the drivers from the computer Manufacturer’s website and reinstall the drivers.

NVIDIA DRIVER 307.83

The issue still the same.

I went to NVIDIA Web site and they suggested to download a new driver

GE force 353.62. I was able to downloaded but was not able to install it due to:

"NVIDIA Installer cannot continue this graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

I don't know what to do anymore

Any other suggestion?
