    Windows 10 October Update Build 17763.379


    My systems run in a 2012 active directory domain, as my machines upgrade to 1809 Build 17763 they are experiencing a problem where upon logging in, there is a 25-45 second delay before the desktop loads. The system will display the 'Welcome' message with the spinning circles.


    I've enabled verbose messages, and the system doesn't show any activity.

    I've updated all manufacturer drivers/BIOS - This is happening on Lenovo and Dell systems.

    I've gone through the process of disabling all services, but found that I get the delay no matter what, until I disable networking services.

    This is affecting brand new builds, and older systems as well.


    I took a domain computer, changed it to use bogus DNS servers, and it had the same exactly delay, which in my mind rules out an AD or Group Policy problem (Specificly polices around waiting for profile, waiting for network, I don't have policies for those defined).


    I believe it is related to this update because the only people reporting this are those who have been upgraded. Searching online I've only found a couple of matching instances, with no fixes specified, and if it were strictly an update problem, I think there would be a lot more noise.


    I've run performance analyzer, I ran a network capture, and while it is very possible I'm just missing it, nothing stands out.
