Discus and support Windows 10 offline map download extremely slow in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Hi! I wanted to download the offline map data on windows onto my laptop.     Windows 10 offline map download extremely slow


    Hi! I wanted to download the offline map data on windows onto my laptop. The file is apparently 671MB. I have a 135mbps download speed on my internet. I am still waiting for it to download after 90 minutes! This question asked in 2020 and the answer given was that the download might be busy. 4 Years on they are still busy? Or is it that this is typical of Microsoft's customer service? Or is there a genuine answer to this problem?

    NO Maps Offline

    Hi FrancoTerracciano,

    Follow these steps on how to use Offline Maps:

    1. Download maps before you go offline. Then later, search for places and get directions in the Maps app, even without Internet access.
    2. On your Windows 10 PC or phone, select Settings
      > Apps, and then choose
      Offline maps.
    3. Select Download maps and follow the instructions.
    4. On Start
      , select Maps to search for places and get directions on the downloaded maps.

    Disable Offline Map downloads and updates


    Yeah, that disables the auto download and update....which is good. I'm trying to take it a step further by greying out the options for offline maps altogether.

    With that GPO set users can still manually download...
