Windows 10: Windows 10 on new drive.

I recently built a new pc. I basically threw all of the old hardware away except for my drive. I was going to use the same drive but ended up breaking it, so I had to install windows 10 through usb to a new drive. After it was installed and I got to the desktop, it told me my windows wasn't activated. I'm still using my same windows account and it's not letting my get windows 10 activated. Is Microsoft actually making me buy another key or am I just missing something?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Reinstall Windows 10 to new hard drive
