Windows 10: Windows 10 On Screen Keyboard only types in English!

I'm trying to get the on screen keyboard to type in Mandarin. It was working before I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10. If I have the input set to Chinese the on screen keyboard would switch into pinyin but now it doesn't. And yes I added the Chinese language pack and made changes in the language and regions settings. I looked everywhere online but haven't found a solution. One video showed that you can make changes by running intl.cpl but that settings menu has changed and no longer has the language option. I've spent a few hours going in circles, no way is it this compli

I would suggest you to remove English UK and just have the default English US under keyboard input language and check.

Step 1:To keep English US as the default input language and to remove other installed services

a. Type Settings in the search bar and click on the setting symbol on the top right.

b. Click on Time and Languages.

c. Click on Region and Languages.

d. Under the languages tab.

e. Click and Change the language to English US.

Step 2:Use on screen keyboard to type the characters (@, “)

To use on-screen keyboard, follow the steps below.

a. Click on Start; type “On-screen” without quotes and hit Enter.

b. Now check if you’re able to get right characters.

Step 1: Turn off on screen keyboard

• Open Start menu, type Settings in search bar and click on Settings.
• Click on Ease of access and select keyboard.
• Turn off the on screen keyboard.

Step 2: Turn off tablet mode

I suggest you to turn off tablet mode, as it may also be the cause for the issue.

• Open Start menu, type tablet mode settings in search bar and click on it.
• Turn off the tablet mode option and check if it helps.

Keyboard typing issue with Windows 10

This issue might occur due to the keyboard language change. It happens so when you upgrade to Windows 10, certain settings changes will take place with the upgrade. The keyboard language might change or the device drivers may not be compatible with
the upgraded operating system.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the
hardware and devices troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• 
  Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type
  troubleshooter and select the top most search result.
  
• 
  Click on View all from left side panel of the screen.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Devices,
  click on Advanced option and check
  Apply repairs automatically option.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instructions.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to
download the keyboard language from the Settings page by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• 
  Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type
  Settings and select the top most search result.
  
• 
  Select Time & Language from the options shown in the window.
  
• 
  Click on Region & Language from the left side panel, click on
  English language under Added language and click on
  Options.
  
• 
  Check if you have downloaded the Language Pack,
  Speech and Keyboard language from the window. Download the pending language pack and check if the issue is resolved.

  After the download is complete, go back to
  Region & language window, select English language and click on
  Set as Default.
  
• 
  Close the page and check if the issue is resolved.
