Windows 10: Windows 10 on Toshiba C55 laptop restarted in Sleep Mode closed cover screen 7/27/20, updates?

My question is why Windows Re-started when l/t was in Sleep Mode?

When I open cover screen and enter PIN~ 7/27/20 ~0611hr the Desktop loaded clean. Last night I had WORD files open when I closed cover as stop my session. Usually I resume files when I continue next day- this first time this happened. WORD show Recover Files when I launched Word this morning.

First thing I checked Updates, show Windows Defender Definitions 7/26 KB2267602 ver 1.319.2317.0 was updated sometime between 0019 to 0037 hr. per search of files modified 7/27. Another text file indicated there may have been four 4 updates to Microsoft Office.

I'm running full scan of hard-drive with Defender to make sure no virus or such.

Laptop shutdown instead of going to sleep when closing the cover

Hi, after I did the latest update of windows 10 , version 1803 on June 9/18, my Toshiba C50Dt-A laptop will shutdown instead of going to sleep when closing the cover. The power & sleep settings look fine. All newer windows update after that did not have
a fix for this issue.

Anyone has an answer to this issue? Thanks!

 

Toshiba Laptop Black Screen

I have a Toshiba Laptop, Was reinstalling windows 7 on it last night left it doing the updates then shut it down. Turned it on this this afternoon only to find the laptop screen is Black and also there is a burning smell coming from the Fan.

I connected the Laptop to a external monitor that is fine, Can go into bios, Windows boots up fine Etc.
Just took apart the laptop earlier to check all the cables where in correctly, Checked the motherboard over for any damage, burnt bits but but found nothing. Just put it back together now but im still getting this burning smell and i still cant use the laptop screen only a external screen.

I Tried Pressing FN+F5 to switch to the laptop screen, But still black screen. Any Suggestions please ?
