Please please help. Never had any problems. PC all set to auto updates. 11.2.22 I noticed my time & date was still on the previous days date. I went to settings for T & D and saw auto update was not checked so I checked it to auto update this corrected the problem. I ran a full scan, all good. When I turned PC off an auto update was installed KB5010342 11.2.22. Since then my ASUS desktop, Windows 10 will only boot up in BIOS mode and I cannot get it to boot up in normal mode as it was. The T & D is correct in BIOS mode too. I have followed instructions to set to 'normal sta

  2. Windows Update KB5010342 fails to install Windows 10 version 21H1

February Patch Tuesday Update failed With Error 0x80070003

do not have group policies in force
do not use 3rd party utilities to block telemetry
    have not disabled WU recently
    do not use a VPN
do not have any 3rd party security sftw installed

    Steps I have already taken:

#1) Ran SFC /verify - Windows Resource Protection found integrity violations
CBS log shows > Warning: Overlap in Directories (Windows\Program Files) , (Windows\SysWOW64), and Windows\Program Files (x86). Warnings state these Directories are owned twice or have its security set twice

#2) Performed a clean boot and then Reset Windows Update in How to Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

#3) Ran Windows Update troubleshooter - The result fixed 2 issues (atttached screenshot)

#4) Restarted system to install Update again after WU downloaded KB5010342 - message received from second attempted update : We couldn't complete Update. Undoing Changes"

returning system to restart normally needed to wait to be done on the 2nd reboot. (1st reboot) performed during the WU reset process. (2nd reboot) performed to return system to restart normally Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to troubleshoot software conflicts

How to go about building a tri-boot system?

i dual boot all the time, and going in to tri boot is easy.

step 1) partition the drive in to 3 partitions ( leaving 1 empty for the linux installer. )
step 2) install windows on the first 2 partitions.
step 3) install linux, and let it auto partition the remaining space. ( i recommend at least 30gb of space for linux, because it will make things a lot easier. )

    step 4) enjoy.

    Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks
