Windows 10: Windows 10 only outputs pcm 2.0 . Cant get atmos to work

Hi, First off everything has been working fine until today.

My pc is connected via Hdmi to my Onkyo onkyo tx-nr686 receiver 7.1 system with atmos speakersfrom my intergreated intel graphics card output on my pc.

My tv is Lg Cx Oled. If I play mkv's with vlc that include Dts or Atmos then windows allows this as I see the output on the Av Display showing this and I can hear. If I play gears 5 which is Atmos and has been working up until today I see the Atmos logo on my av display but no audio is playing or sometimes it plays only pcm 2.0 . I have ran all tests unistalling drivers etc and nothing works. Also if i run windows audio test in sound panel, I only hear the left and right speaker tones even though I have seleted 7.1 or atmos. If i play a dolby atmos test from my webpage of youtube , my av receiver will change to atmos but again, no sound will play.

This is driving me nuts! Please help!!!!!

How to select PCM stereo output for digital audio S/PDIF jack?

Hi,

The settings for your audio could be managed in a few ways, like through the Control Panel's default program or the program installed along the sound card drivers. That being said, since what you are using is not the default audio output, we suggest that
you update the sound card driver by checking the manufacturer's website. In the event that what you have already installed is the latest driver for your sound card, we suggest contacting the manufacturer of your sound card to provide you necessary steps on
how to change your audio into PCM.

here is how it should work from Windows 10

1 . buy a good Dolby Atmos Reciver
2 .buy a good setup of at least 5.1.2 Atmos certified speakers or upgrade existing 5.1 by buying and adding only ATMOS speakers
3. have an optical OUT from your PC
4. buy license DOLBY ATMOS FOR HOME THEATER over MICROSOFT market
5. connect your PC using Optical cable with your Receiver
6. Enjoy

 

Dolby Atmos

We would like to confirm if you have check if you Dolby Atmos can be dectect by your computer?

We suggest that you check if its being detected by following these steps:

• At the bottom right side of your screen, where the Time and date can also be located, look for the
  sound icon.
• Right click on the sound icon, a smaill window will pop up with the Sound
  menus.
• Click on the Playback Devices.
• The Sound window will appear with the Playback
  tab.
• Look for Dolby Atmos to make sure that it is properly installed.

If its not on the list in Playback Devices, kindly check if its listed in Device Manager by:

• From the Start menu, type in Device Manager, then
  Enter.
• Then click the Sound, video and game controllers driver.
• Look for Dolby Atmos, then right click on it, then click
  Unintall.
• Once done, remove your Dolby Atmos device and restart you computer.
  

After your computer has restarted and your are in the Desktop screen of your computer, connect your Dolby Atmos device. It should automatically be installed in your computer by giving you prompts. Once successfully installed, kindly check if it is detected
now by you computer in Playback Devices.
