Windows 10: Windows 10 or hard drive crash!??!!

Ok ya’ll i need some serious insight. Was on chrome downloading attachment i sent to myself on gmail a picure.. computer froze then crashed. Turned computer on and it said diagnosing. Then said repairing disk errors. It took like 3 hours at that screen. Then it said auto repair could not repair your pc. So i shut it down. Turned it back on, and screen was black for a super hot minute. Eventually it came to my login screen about 15 minutes after waiting- put in my pin and took about another 20-30 minutes to go to my desktop and get everything kind of loaded. Now my pc is super super slow idk if its backed up and everythingis not appearing as it should. Some items have icons and a description some just have icons. The internet only works with ethernet cable. If i open any program it takes forever to load. And most wont open... someone please help me i have no clue how to really work on computers.. i cannot loose the files i have on my computer... i called hp and they want 60 bucks just to troulbeshoot over the phone for the one time fee..


i have an external i use for my xbox and im willing to erase it if i knew how. I tried to go to recovery page on my hp pc with it plugged in and my computer wont read it..

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windowed Hard Drives

On the contrary, showing off "slow tech" by adding a window to a hard drive is a "dumb" idea. Do you really want to be showing off a whole "7200-10000 RPM of power" or would you rather show off a plain SSD drive? (If you really desire to "show off")

Adding any window to any drive is just stupid. I just suggested an easier option for you since manufactures don't put windows on the latest hard drives.
